Rabbi Rebecca Galin

Senior Jewish Educator

Rabbi Rebecca grew up in the Reform movement in Lexington, MA, where she developed her love for Debbie Friedman’s “The Latke Song” at Hebrew school at Temple Isaiah. She loves pluralism and has learned in Jewish institutions across the denominational spectrum including Yeshivat Hadar (Traditional Egalitarian), Yeshivat Maharat and Yeshivat Chovevei Torah (Modern Orthodox), and the Jewish Theological Seminary of America (Conservative). She holds a BA in Film Studies from Barnard College, and rabbinic ordination from JTS where she also received her BA in Prayer Studies and an MA in Spiritual Care & Counseling. Prior to her rabbinic studies, Rabbi Rebecca worked at UJA-Federation of New York. During rabbinical school, Rebecca gained extensive experience working with Hillels, interning at Brandeis University Hillel, Rutgers University Hillel, and University at Albany Hillel. She also worked as an interfaith chaplain at DOROT USA and New York Presbyterian Hospital. Rabbi Rebecca loves making jam and baking, waving at dogs on the sidewalk, and visiting art museums with her partner Sam.
