    The time has come to start thinking about the summer! Below are several summer opportunties to do good, to learn more and to clarify your post-grad goals.

    For those of you who aren't worrying about summer 2007, but what you'll do all of next year, there are some year-long opportunities toward the end of this e-mail.

    Free Trip to Israel

    Want to go to Israel for FREE? Go on the Taglit- birthright israel: Hillel trip.

    Have you ever floated in the Dead Sea? Seen the sunrise from Masada? Smoked hookah in a Bedouin tent? Explored the Old City of Jerusalem? If you haven’t, then what are you waiting for?! If you are Jewish, between the ages of 18-26, and have never been to Israel before on a peer trip, you are eligible to spend 10 days in either May ’07 or June ’07 with fellow college students and see first hand what everyone is talking about.

    Bank HaPoalim Internship

    Following a successful internship program in 2006, Bank HaPoalim, in partnership with the Israel on Campus Coalition, is offering a unique summer internship opportunity to 20 outstanding undergraduate and graduate students.

    This experience enables business students to learn about Israel firsthand by working in Israel’s vibrant private sector and is designed to provide students with a glimpse into various aspects of the Bank’s work through hands-on work, seminars, meetings with Bank Executives, site visits, trips around Israel, and social and cultural activities.

    The internship will begin on June 17th and will end on August 9th. The deadline for application is February 15.

    This is a very competitive and prestigious program drawing applicants from some of the finest business schools in North America and is sure to be a wonderful experience for those that are selected.

    CEU Professional Internship Program

    Interested students can apply for the CEU Summer Professional Internship Program (June 1 - July 31, 2007) in Budapest, Hungary.

    the internship offers an opportunity for a selected group of students to undertake highly substantive internships in various Budapest-based public, non- profit and private organizations in areas such as public health, education, environment, economic and political transition, human and minority rights (Roma issues), European integration, Jewish culture and history in Central and Eastern Europe, gender issues, history&archival research, etc.

    During the program, students participate in the CEU credited seminar that constitutes an academic component of the internship program.

    English is the language of the internship and the seminar.

    Jewish Leadership at CLIP

    The Collegiate Leadership Internship Program (CLIP) is now recruiting for the summer of 2007. CLIP is the only internship program in the country specifically dedicated to developing the next professional and lay leaders in the Jewish community.

    The Collegiate Leadership Internship Program (CLIP) is a competitive paid summer internship experience for students from New York or attending schools in New York.

    Through professional work experiences, weekly educational seminars, and a Shabbaton retreat, CLIP is designed to inspire participants to return to their college campuses as motivated and dedicated student leaders.

    As an intern, you will develop effective leadership skills, expand your professional horizons, and learn about the dynamic nature of the organized Jewish community on campus and in New York. For more information click on the following link http://clip.hillel.org.

    AJC Goldman Fellowship Program

    The Goldman Fellowship is designed to identify and develop future leaders in the area of domestic and international politics, diplomacy, communications and interethnic relations.

    This Fellowship gives students the unique opportunity to work throughout the world, from San Fransisco to Geneva, Switzerland, from NYC to Melbourne, Australia.

    Students are placed in mentor relationships on assignments in a variety of fields that span the range of AJC's work and offer insights into the priorities of hte Jewish community today.

    The program is open to juniors, seniors and graduate students. Fellows receive a $3,000 stipend.

    Avodah Jewish Service Corp.

    Fight Poverty. Explore Judaism. Build Community.

    AVODAH: The Jewish Service Corps combines front- line anti-poverty work, Jewish learning, and community building in a one-year program for young people, 21-26. Help fight for justice and equality in New York, Chicago, and Washington DC’s most underserved neighborhoods. Work full-time on issues you care about—immigration, hunger, literacy, public health, domestic violence, and more. Learn first-hand from activists, educators, and each other.     Jewish "Teach for America"

    Called “A mobile, Jewish version of Teach for America”, the Goldring/ Woldenberg Institute of Southern Jewish Life (ISJL) is a non-profit organization dedicated to the preservation and documentation of the practice, culture, and legacy of Judaism in the South. Available at the end of the current school year, we will have several positions for recent graduates looking to enter the field of Jewish education or communal work. This is a full- time, two-year position.

    The Institute of Southern Jewish Life (ISJL) Education Fellows work with Jewish communities across the South that have limited access to professional Jewish educational or rabbinic services. These schools are often run by parents who have little or no formal educational training. The ISJL is committed to assisting these parents and teachers, helping insure that their children and students will become active participants in the Jewish community.

    Education Fellows work to create a Common Body of Jewish Knowledge by • Assisting teachers in implementing a comprehensive religious school curriculum • Conducting teacher training sessions • Leading Shabbat and holiday services • Creating religious school programming for all age groups • Organizing and directing an annual education conference • Assisting with community and cultural programming

    What You’ll Gain: ISJL Education Fellows gain tremendous experience in Jewish communal services and leadership skills over the two year fellowship period. On the job training is provided, as well as salary, expenses, and benefits. Past Fellows have been accepted into top graduate programs and received quality job offers in the Jewish community.
