JRC Deadline Tomorrow

What is the Jews in Residential Colleges (JRC) Program? JRC's are Class of 2009 and Class of 2010 students who create innovative and fun programs and study breaks in the Princeton University residential colleges. This program has developed from the JFS (Jewish Freshmen Support) program, expanding to include residential college programming opportunities for ALL students living within the six colleges. JRC's are hired to engage their peers in exciting social, cultural, and educational programming, regardless of religious affiliation or background. The JRC program will help integrate Jewish life into the university and residential college system by partnering with RCA's and other residential life staff, thereby continuing to build and strengthen Jewish life at Princeton University.

The deadline is Friday, May 4th at 5 p.m. A second Shalom Princeton, dedicated to this application will be send out early Thursday afternoon.

If you have any additional questions, please do not hesitate to contact Kim Kushner, JCSC Fellow, at kkushner@princeton.edu.

Kosher Sex this Fall

Judaism is a sex-positive tradition which values sexual pleasure and recognizes that physical intimacy can be an experience of holiness. Although traditionally Judaism advocates full sexual expression only within the context of heterosexual marriage, several modern Jewish thinkers are applying Jewish values to create a new sexual ethic for pre-marital and homosexual relations.

This discussion group will consider traditional and contemporary sources in relation to the sexual decisions college students and others are making in their daily lives.

This group will meet bi-weekly in the fall and will be co- facilitated by Rabbi Julie Roth, Executive Director of the Center for Jewish Life and Fannie Bialek '09, President of the Sexual Health Advisors.

Please let us know via email if you are interested in participating in the fall - julroth@princeton.edu or abialek@princeton.edu.
