Take Back the Night - Break the Silence!

Special Guest: Rose Steward, the only known survivor of a serial killer, was repeatedly raped, assaulted, and strangled. She was the key witness for in three separate trials that spanned almost a decade. Through the years, Rose has written articles for the Los Angeles Times and Redbook magazine, has appeared on national talk shows and her story has been featured in a Discovery Channel series on survivors called ''Lifeforce.'' She has presented widely including to inmates at the California Youth Authority, professional counselors at a victim sensitivity conference and Loyola Law School. Meet in front of Murray Dodge. Join students from all different faith traditions (and no tradition) and clean up Cadwalader Park one of Trenton's most treasured public spaces.

In his capacity as Senior Foreign Press Coordinator, David Baker serves as The Prime Minister's Office liaison to the foreign press: briefing foreign journalists and analyzing international media trends. Mr. Baker previously served under Prime Ministers Sharon and Barak. Prior to his work in the Prime Ministers' Office, Mr. Baker wrote and edited briefings, speeches and newspaper articles for the Ministry of Education/International Relations Division and was a journalist for several newspapers including The Jerusalem Post. David Baker served in the IDF attaining the rank of Captain and is a reserve officer in the IDF's Spokesperson Unit. Mr. Baker is a native New Yorker who made aliyah in 1985 and lives in Jerusalem with his wife and two children.

The Hebrew Mamita

On Friday, April 27th, the Center for Jewish Life, the Carl A. Fields Center, and Wym'on Stage are bringing The Hebrew Mamita Vanessa Hidary to Princeton University. The Hebrew Mamita is an actress/poet/playwright who will be performing her slam poetry show "Culture Bandit", a poetic and perceptive one-woman show exploring her personal confluence of Jewish and Latino heritages. The Hebrew Mamita's solo show features monologues, poetry and hip-hop, and chronicles her coming of age during the golden age of Hip-Hop and her dedication to fostering understanding and friendship between all people. The Hebrew Mamita's "Cultural Bandit" show has aired as a part of "Russell Simmon's Presents Def Poetry" on HBO. She is featured in the film "The Tribe" which was selected for the 2006 Sundance Film Festival and the 2006 Tribeca Film Festival. She has been featured in The New York Post, Time Out New York, The Jewish Week, Spitkickers.com, The Forward, URB magazine, BUST Magazine, The Los Angeles Times, Time Out NY, The Albuquerque Journal, and Lilith Magazine.
