Hungry, Hungry Hamentashen!

When: Wednesday, February 28th, 8-9pm

Where: Forbes College Cafe

Did you know that one of the most important Purim traditions involves giving gifts to you friends and to those in need?

Stop by Forbes Cafe to make treat bags for your friends, as well as Princeton Medical Center patients and needy families from Jewish Family Services.

Eat hamentashen and other delicious desserts, and celebrate Purim while also making a difference!

Want to go to Israel for FREE?

Have you ever floated in the Dead Sea? Seen the sunrise from Masada? Smoked hookah in a Bedouin tent? Explored the Old City of Jerusalem? If you haven’t, then what are you waiting for?!

If you are Jewish, between the ages of 18-26, and have never been to Israel before on a peer trip, you are eligible to spend 10 days in either May ’07 or June ’07 with fellow college students and see first hand what everyone is talking about.

Learn about the trip at any one of this week's programs, listed below:

Monday 2/26, 12-1pm—Lunch, Learn and Register at the Center for Jewish Life (FREE lunch for upperclassmen and graduate students)

Tuesday 2/27, 9-10pm—Free Falafel and Information Session, Wilcox Hall

Information Table at Frist: Wednesday 2/28, 1:30-3:30pm and Thursday 3/1, 10am-12:30pm

Registration opens soon for Taglit-birthright israel: Hillel trip. Go to www.israel.hillel.org for more information and to register. Registration begins FEBRUARY 15TH and ends MARCH 8TH.

Jews for Social Justice

Jews for Social Justice (JSJ) will be hosting its first *dinner-discussion* next Tuesday, February 27th from 6:00 to 7:00 pm in the CJL dining hall.

Come by to eat and join a conversation with Isaiah and biblical scholars about land tenure, wealth and poverty.

What did the accumulation of land in the hands of a few mean for the ancient Jewish community? What does it mean for us today?

This is the first in a series of monthly dinner- discussions on how Jewish tradition relates to current social questions and debates.

Please email Stephanie Greenwood at sgreenwo@princeton.edu for more information about JSJ or be put on the email list.

War or Peace?

Come hear Rafael D. Frankel, a Tel-Aviv based journalist, to speak on the topic "War or Peace? The Middle East at a Dangerous Crossroads."

In his seven years of reporting from around the world, Mr. Frankel has covered the White House, Southeast Asia and the Middle East, including this past summer's Israel-Hezbollah war, for various news organizations. He previously served as the Palestinian Territories reporter for The Jerusalem Post.

Thursday, March 1st at 4:30 p.m.

Whig Hall Senate Chamber.

Sponsored by PIPAC.

Shabbat 300

There are 300 reasons to be there.

Will you be one of them?

Friday, March 2nd at 6:30 p.m. Carl Icahn Atrium.

Help create and celebrate Shabbat in a way Princeton has never seen!

Your Seder. Your Way.

Planning on Being On campus for Passover (Monday, April 2nd, right after spring break)?

The CJL wants YOU to Have it Your Way!

Lead a Seder for a group of your peers and with the theme and style of your choice.

No previous Seder leading experience necessary. We will provide workshops to help you prepare.

Please contact rivky@princeton.edu.

[Speak Out] is Back!

[SpeakOut] was begun in April 2006 by a small core of Princeton students who were increasingly concerned about unhealthy social pressures, sexual relationships, and sexual assault on campus.

We have since been deeply committed to understanding these issues and creating a more active, informed, socially responsible student body. With a heightened awareness about sexual assault and new tools to recognize potentially problematic situations, we hope to empower students with the courage to speak up and take action – both for their own safety and for that of their fellow Princetonians.

[SpeakOut] is growing! In addition to becoming an official group, we still have more exciting projects coming up. We are in the process of hanging recess information sheets in all of the bathrooms across campus.

For more information contact Maital Friedman (mfriedman@) or Sarah Erickson (serickso@).
