The time has come to elect the CJL Student Board for the
coming year. One of the new features will be a representative from the
graduate student body. Any graduate student interested or involved in
the CJL/Jewish life at Princeton is eligible to run for this
position. Elections will be
on WEDNESDAY, December 12.
What does the Student Board do?
Members of the Board will be responsible for planning
and executing CJL programs and events. As a representative, you will
have the resources and opportunity to take Jewish life in whatever
direction you choose.
Who would make a good Board Member?
People who are creative, fun, and committed to improving
Jewish life on campus.
What are Board Responsibilities?
1) To attend all Student Board Meetings
2) To maintain a significant presence at CJL events
3) Actively to participate in a minimum of one standing committee
(Shabbat/Holiday, Tzedek/Social Justice, Communications, Israel,
Special Events, Recruitment, & Social Programs), and to demonstrate
leadership in the planning and execution of Student Board events
4) To chair a Student Board committee if asked to do so by the
Vice-President
How big of a time commitment is this?
Participation in the Student Board is a significant
commitment. Candidates should be prepared to devote about 3 hrs./week
to their responsibilities.
What other benefits are there to being on the Student
Board?
In addition to serving the community, developing your
leadership skills, working with fantastic people, and having a great
time doing exciting work, the CJL will establish a scholarship fund for
Student Board members to use for something Jewishly relevant of their
choice.
